Dune Sprite

Known for their frolicsome nature, Dune Sprites are tiny fey creatures standing no more than two feet tall. Their darkened skin protecting them from the scorching rays of The Sundered Wastes. Their luminous eyes, however, can range from the brilliant blue of the sky to the rich gold of the sun-soaked dunes.   Despite the harshness of the wastes, Dune Sprites are known for their jovial and mischievous ways. Masters of illusion and trickery, they use their innate magical abilities to play pranks on unwary travelers. They may create illusions of oasis to lead wanderers astray, or chase them down with an illusory sandworm erupting from the surface.   These pranks are seldom malicious, they're meant to lighten the mood of the sprites and keep them away from danger. Those who see through the illusions and react with a good humor may even find themselves aided by the Dune Sprites, guided towards hidden sources of water or shown safe passage through treacherous quicksand.   Often when The Tower Sentinels pass through the desert they will contact the sprites to provide them with supplies for safe passage, the relationship is strong and benefits both sides. Sometimes the sprites need help clearing out a home of pests that are too strong for them, and sometimes the sentinels need information about recent events of the wastes (usually for tracking down recent travelers of interest).   The culture of the Dune Sprites revovles around storytelling and music. Each sprite is a keeper of tales, and their oral tradition maintains the history and wisdom of their people. Their music, made with various instruments that have been provided by the sentinels, is stunningly beautiful and can act as a slight respite in the harshness of the wastes.
