The Loyal Rover Vehicle in Seelen Stream Sub-Sector: A Warhammer 40k Setting | World Anvil

The Loyal Rover

The last of the Vornhein fleet, it is an Orion class Star Clipper. Due to its nature and crew, it was the only ship to escape the Cicatrix Maledictum. Now it is tasked to bore the legacy and responsibility of the Vornhein dynasty back to greatness. Considered a rarity amongst Imperial starships, these vessels are designed for cargo transport at high speeds. Orions are constructed to transport smaller, high-value cargoes that must reach their destination quickly or through hostile territory. Rather than rely on armed escorts, Orions travel alone.

Armor and defense

Minimally armored with reduced redundant internal bulkheads in order to increase speed and cargo capacity, an Orion can easily be crippled in only a few hits. Its focus on speed is coupled with its armament having a fairly robust prow facing, keel mounted macro lance battery with minimal port and stern macro cannon battery capability. The intent being to out run an enemy blockade by opening holes in the enemy force and exploiting the gap.

Additional & auxiliary systems

Unique to the Loyal Rover, the Vornhein dynasty had installed several arcane storage security measures in order to transport dangerous or exotic cargo of unknown human or xenos origin. What's more however, additional bulkheads have been installed specifically to seal these storage areas in the event of failure.

Hangars & docked vessels

While holding a minimal launch points with only two hangers, the vessel variety held within has been increased by repurposing storage blocks originally adjacent to the hangers. With a select array of Arvus Lighters, an Aquilla Lander, a Fury Interceptor, and three varieties of Valkyrie.
