Titanism

Titanism is a crude name to the set of mythological beliefs that surround many on Kayotia, and was the official recognized form of belief and religious association of the Rekettan Empire. It does not necessarily go hand in hand with Dreaming, but rather Dreaming ideals is more of a practice and method that involves some superstition, only occasionally overlapping in vocabulary or ideas. Titanism is only named such in retrospect, and was more surely believed as just the story of life in its contemporary use and treated more as a natural law theory like gravity. Those looking at it more shrewd for its time, may have considered it "The Yol fable", or "Yolinism". Actual worship, and religious offshoots, are more seen in precise worship of a god or entity from this mythos.   The belief exists that various higher gods existed in the ancient times before perception could even be attained for such times. Yol is the first, and considered greatest creator with various forms. He's often depicted as a large primal creature known as a "Titan" that towered in epic height. His soul was said to emanate from a massive orange eye that rests on a faceless head, and possessed a gray featureless titan body. He created the basic world, and primal forms of other such titans and similar entities. With the lift two large rocks from his world, he charged them with void energy, and created moons to illuminate and entertain his creations. Therefor he is also father of the moon, and symbolized with it.   Gilda was another initial god. She was among the first of the dragon kind, golden and fiery with more energy than mortal variants, and one of Yol's first intelligent achievements. She loved Yol for making her and the world, and provided warmth over the land mass Yol created. Finding the moons too dark, she cast a flame on one, and turned it into the sun. He was grateful, and loved his creation back, so much that together they created more simpler life. They began to mold them in such a way that they would adapt and grow with souls, for Yol & Gilda would share their abundant soul energy with all.   The myth ends of tragedy when the magic leak of souls and corrupt void matter, starts to make the massive titans act odd. Different tales suggest different variations of how the next calamity was reached, but Yol went mad, and his energy corrupt, flowing and influencing onto others to act violently across the land. A great titan war fell across the world, and as these giants beat each other into the ground, mountains formed, land masses shift, and through the effect and mishaps of other spirits, elements like water was manifested. One such fallen Titan was regarded as Kayomagus, and his corpse is said to have become the landmass that would be regarded as Kayotia. It is further suggested that in the raging conflicts, Yol fell into a deep sleep or lost his corporeal form to retreat into the void. Gilda was said to have assisted her smaller children to evolve and become what they are today, and hides from the chaos within the very life powers of soul instead of void.   Void vs Veil: To some foreign to the system of logic, void, veil, and spiritual energy are often confused for each other. Spiritual energy is the projected energy of mortal life. It is of a higher plane, but fuels and burns up in mortality all the same, and is found in the production and cells of the being. The void is like that, but with holyness, being of god energy and material, and their most purest form of magic expolsion. Drawing from this substance, is inside the veil. The veil is in reference to other places where magic and soul energy combine in storage, rest, or influence of coming change.

Smaller Deities & Spirits

Polmressa, The Wise:   Polmressa is said to be the guardian of The Veil, the realms that are made up of pure chaos magic, and the essence of power from Yol and perhaps beyond. It isn't distinguished if she is a god, or merely a high-spirit protector of godly things, and most Reketta and other believers would acknowledge this ignorance for it could very well be a part of how Polmressa distorted the reality and guards what is beyond their understanding. She is often depicted or seen as a vulture-like creature, or occasionally even misunderstood with mixed images of Ekethian remains. Legends host ideas that she holds the realm of veils together, and protects the world of magic and mundane from falling apart onto each-other.   Oseph, The Inventor:   Considered the patron to humans, except... not always as much to actual humans. Oseph is the lesser god that educated and guided the primal furmen, and even as the empire advances, they acknowledge that man-tribes were mostly ahead of them for some time with tools and such. As such, they honor this human image for unusual forms of mechanical engineering, arithmetic, and even host stories on how he stole chaos and put it in a crystal that lead to some similar instruments being used by mankind. Oseph has also been used as justification for enslaving humans at a large rate, as they take his image more literally as the god of tools, and thus his people become their tools.   Jao'Kozi, The Void Eater:   Jao'Kozi was a great spirit in the form of a large alligator-like beast that was kept as a pet to Yol & Gilda. It is said in the titan battles, Yol would feed it parts of the other titans. However, he refused to eat much, until enticed with a magic energy. However, this caused his insides to liquify, swell up, and burst into waters that became the oceans. Now, Reketta pray to his potential lingering energy for safe passage across the seas.   Ra'ui'wa, The Sleep-breather:   This spiritual odd-ball isn't completely related to the mythos, but often combined with it from theories of how their understanding of Dreaming and Veils came to be. A lingering oral story from tribal period, Ra'ui'wa was said to be an odd looking, albino male reketta with feathers behind his jaw that changed colors. He would visit Reketta in their slip, sprinkle odd glimmering grains like sand on them, and share small secrets, opening their passage to extraordinary perception. It is also believed this myth is why Rekettas value dyed sand in their artwork. In titanism, he is considered to be the symbol of knowledge, as it is suspected he was the one to reveal the stories of Yol & the rest.

Cosmological Views

Yol is regarded as the maker of core land, magic, and moon. Gilda is said to be the goddess that has brought conscious life about, warmth, and sunlight. Between the two, it is a mother & father combination that is said to have created the land that became the world, and its people.   Compared with Basillua's more moderately dominating stances, their gods may overlap in some ways. The closest comparisons with their world view, or even worship-manifested energies, can be translated as such...   Yol = Ezqot   Gilda = Sytiha   Polmressa = Teziam   Oseph = Celismen

Priesthood

Priests are not that common, but worship is still handled by a select few who assign themselves to broad gratitude, or a specific figure in the mythos. Among such examples of active practice with this fable, include...
Sun Priest
The sun priest is the most common form of worship (again, if not counting Dreamers). They will softly worship the general spectrum, but depend more on prayers and thanks to Gilda, whom many believe is the only living and influential entity of great importance to life. Most along this line, hold dragons sacred as those created in the image of Gilda, and present their worship cloths in forms of long gray/silver robes with vibrant golden silk trims, representing the sun contrasting over moon. Some of the more extremes will pay tribute to dragons, but this practice is not welcomed or encouraged by the empire.
Eternals / Chaottan
Eternals or Chaottan - depending on temple, and individual discretion - are people worshiping focused more to Yol. Such people dress less flashy, and have fewer designated cerimonial places in the empire, but exist never-the-less, often representing with items of stone, or a hat that's more cubical on the sides as an allusion to Yol's head. While most general citizens speak to Yol's name in gratitude for his creating and shared energy, they believe he is unreliable or even evil to worship more seriously in a more present-sense. The priests that call themselves Eternals however, are more of the contrarian thought, and believe his evils were meant to do good. Just as the moon is darker, but still brings light, they see his efforts as an attempt to sustain soul, and to truly bring what life can be. Their mantra is often along the lines that without a Titan War, there would be no Kayotia. Without pain, they would not know healing. It is along these guidelines they worship the great Yol.   Chaottans are mostly the same, with some slight distinction. The divide in the name, has more often come to mean those who attempt to make contact through Chaos energy. They pray more for Yol's active return, and worship Polmressa more evenly with belief she hid away Yol and his insanity from the world. Either of these type of worshipers often offer tribute or words in time of pre-meditated battles, or great achievements that came with a cost, or sacrifice.
