Shoa Fraria

The ancestral homeland of the elves. Southern part mostly forest. Northern part mostly sea.

Shoa Fraria, also known as Shoa Fraria Forest, is a wilderness region north of Uflana and Sawhar. Shoa Fraria is the ancestral homeland of the elves, who remain in control of several holdings through the zone, including the capital A'sa Entheas.   Travelers through Shoa Fraria's land should treat it with respect, especially if they hope to reach their destination. The ancients elf guard patrols constantly. Any who threaten the land - cutting down live trees, poaching beasts of the forest, and the like - are met with the ancients’ powerful attacks and the guard’ deadly arrows.

Structure

Shoa Fraria is home to several elves of note.   A'sa Entheas (aka A'sa Entheas City) is the capital city of the elves of Pholul. The high priestess Alea Whispersea reside in the Temple of the Dreams.   La Serine is the echanted city of the elves who chose to stay in the northern part of Pholul. The faction is led by Prophet Aeson Stormsea, located in the lowest level of the city.

The Ralonorin

The only unified elf presence dwelling in Shoa Fraria is a reclusive group of rangers, the Ralonorin. They use the terrain and train other inhabitants in their specialized skills. They hold a difference of opinion amongst themselves regarding strangers in Shoa Fraria. Some believe that their duty is to welcome and protect travelers, as long as they show no threat to the forest. Others see any strangers as unwelcome interlopers who must be “escorted” to the border. Still, whatever their opinion on Shoa Fraria, the Ralonorin bow to the wishes of the ancients and the sentinels. There is little reason to try to take the forest, since it has no treasures to plunder (that anyone knows of), but the rangers and the ancients remain vigilant nonetheless.

History

Shoa Fraria is a vast primordial wilderness long given over to beasts and nature’s savage ways. The elves who settled on Pholul hunted in Shoa Fraria’s wilds and settled in A'sa Entheas.   It is told that in recent years, the inhabitants have encountered immense difficulty in holding their lands against monstrous creatures.

The South

The southern part of Shoa Fraria is an ancient forest, and has been in the caring hands of the Elves for thousands of years. It was not until more recent years that things changed, with the coming of the Tiecoon Company lumber harvesting camps, as well as other much more insidious groups. Demons have holdings deep in the forest, the abominable satyrinhabit ancient elven ruins, the vicious Werewolf have taken over an ancient shrine, cursed green dragon have slipped out from a portal, and corruption taints the once-clear rivers.

The Northern Islands

The coastline north to the southern old forest is known for its characteristically gloomy woods and rocky beaches. The elves of A'sa Entheas claim this shoreline as part of their ancient realm. The islandic area stretches along up to the north. Rain, wind, and storms make the individual islands inhospitable.   After the Great Earthquake shattered the world, a small number of elves settled in the continent's northern reaches by sea. They left their capital to claim new homeland and encountered the dwarfes of Bhornrum. Together they formed an alliance and founded La Serine, an echanted city.
