Kovenoth House Matriarch

The Kovenoth Matriarch is the House Kovenoth version of Swynfaredian Matriarchs/Patriarchs.

Appointment

The Kovenoth Matriarch is selected by a vote by all married or widowed true born house members that are at least forty years old. Landed members receiving two votes and dukes and duchesses receiving three votes.
Not everyone bothers to vote and the selection process usually selects traditionalists rather than reformers.

Duties

The main duty, like with most Swynfaredian Matriarchs/Patriarchs, is to propose and approve of proper marriages to preserve the house's political and magical power.
Among the Kovenoth leaders, they have an informal extra duty of safe guarding their family's treasured heirlooms.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Most of the matriarchs and patriarchs are fairly old so they usually leave their office by dying. An unpopular or incompetent leader can be ousted by a 2/3 vote from the older house members.
