Kormatin non-canon fights 2 9-20-2022

General Summary

We had a non canon fight where Kormatin, Ragaini, and Brigid temporalily teamed up with Janesh the Outrider to track down 11 gnolls who kidnapped some people to eat. They were tracking the gnolls down to rescue and/or avenge the captives as appropriate. There were eight adult hostages and one child by the time the PCs caught up with them.
After casting some buff spells, charging in and fighting the gnolls, badly wounding the gnoll chief early, when a grootslang erupted from the ground.
A few of the gnolls kept fighting the PCs but most of the gnolls turned to fight a grootslang erupted from the ground. It started attacking PCs, gnolls, and hostages loosely prioritizes the greater threats while it tried to eat any killed or incapacitated target.
After a satisfying multi-factor fight, they eventually brought the grootslang and managed to bring it down while saving the lives of every hostage.
