Growth Rate & Stages
Hatching in fresh water streams high in the mountains, as fry they eat as much algae as possible until they become large enough to make the journey to the sea. Once in the sea they make the basis of the food chain as a salmon-like niche. After a few years at sea they become sexually mature and return to their spawn points.
