No empire is sustained by peace. High General Antonius has trampled all enemies of the Empire, bringing order to any nation who dares to oppose the Emperor's will. A scarce few soldiers have lived as long as him, and even fewer have fought as much as him. He's not content to watch his soldiers fight on his behalf, every charge is led by his mountainous form in the frontlines. Many see him as courageous, a noble figure who fights alongside the men he leads, but this is far from the truth. In reality he takes immense pleasure from beating the life out of his enemies.
No one knows where he was born. Some speculate that he appeared when the Empire's military was formed. What is known is that he brought success with every battle he led. He himself was an excellent leader and fighter, but most importantly he could sense talent. He surrounded himself by the best, and because of that he got the best results. Despite his numerous victories something stirred in his soul. Boredom, all the victory bored him. Unsatisfied with warfare he retired. He started a farm upon one of his many battlefields, trying to find contentment in the joyous process of growth.
But as more stories of the Resolute Coast reached the Empire, a fire stirred within Antonius. The adventurers had waged war and fought a god. A feat that he had never done, perhaps these adventurers would be worthy of his time.
