The Kings Road

The Kings Road, is an international pathway that stretches the entirety of the continent of Pardisio. The road reaches every major city and Capitol in every kingdom. While not the most direct route to many locations is the safest route.
The Council of Kings jointly funded the road. It was built as a means to increase trade and improve relationships between the seven kingdoms. This has become one of the most popular and heavily utilized amenities.

Purpose / Function

The road was built as a means to streamline and improve trade routes between the seven kingdoms. This has also lead to an increase in tourism, travel, and immigration between the kingdoms. Alongside trade, this has helped increase military efficiency as well as speer for delivery from couriers.

Architecture

The material in which the road is built varies on the kingdom and region though there are some uniform principles of the road:
  • A Shrine to Hoggles Vey is never more than 20 miles down the road.
  • Construction of the road must never be smaller than 8 feet in Width
  • Flooding should never be effect travel and construction should be done to accommodate this
  • The road should be capable of supporting the weight of multiple caravans as well as transportation of heavy equipment and goods
There are stretches that are iconic for the region they are in. Most of the trails through the Paradise Plains use the dense sandstone base on which the plains grow from as their main material for the road. The dwarves excavated their mountains to accommodate paths atop the mountains as well as built caverns. Grey Orcs of the Hal Varti scorched the ground to create paths of obsidian. The fae bent nature to either support or work around the road.

History

The Kings Road is a relatively new piece of Infrastructure. As The Council of Kings formed, one of the first tasks they made was to establish a long road to connect all the kingdoms and their capitals to improve trade and increase the safety of travelers.
The Fellowship of Surveyors planned out a path that skirted around some of the many Shrines of Hoggles Vey that populate the continent. These areas worked as safe havens for travelers and having them nearby for caravans to utilize as well created traveling experiences that were safer than ever before.
