Letter of the Lost
Excerpts from the Letter of the Lost, retrieved in fragments from the Shifting Dunes:
... may be brave, and pure of heart. Do not follow the steps we traced, which have since vanished beneath the shifting sands, for there is no treasure to be gained here. There is only a ceaseless thirst, with no water to slack it, and grasping hands that never tire to hold us...These fragments are available to view in the Derhin Library, and most residents of the region avoid the Shifting Dunes due to the warnings found in them. Although it is likely that the fragments are from many different missives, as each is written in a different handwriting style, they are collectively known as the Letter of the Lost, as most bear a similar message and warn of an unseen danger that keeps the writers trapped.
