Theme-Touched Mortals
On Evandyr there are beings which through processes unclear have become aligned specifically with a certain Theme. In the Arcanist's words, their essence has become infused with a greater proportion of a single sort of Theme-aligned Runic particles, morphing and changing their bodies completely.
The process of transformation can be horrific, an experience of non-consensual soul-flagellation, that tears the body into new forms, or it can be a beautiful transcendence as holy energy is allowed in. It is usually not made clear to the recipient of this energy which sort it will be beforehand, and is usually not up to them.
The effects vary dramatically, though only a single type is widely studied, that of the Typhen's. Nonetheless, all Theme-Touched Mortals have one thing in common. They were born as regular mortals, before the transmogrification took place. Some remain the same, while others have a voice in their mind that takes control, whispering endlessly. Whispering secrets of the worlds beyond... of what could be, if they just let the small little voice have a little more control.
