Old Elysia 古 恵 幸

Old Elysia is the name for the regions of Elysia which have broken free from the Dynasty and returned to cultures formerly held, either before the original formation of the Dynasty of the Hikarima 光, or those imported during its tenure. In Ki-saka, the left-handed traditions of Avernus and his blood-curses and black magic have inspired tenets of action-first philosophies which aide greatly in the battles against demons in its cursed basin. In the north, where Ninporo (任法路) and Ishito (石灯) demarch their prefectures, the bronze hunters of old return to stand as wardens against the evils of the earth. In the south, Amekage (俤雨影) and Esoe (安平治) (though Esoe is now part of the Dynasty) adhere to older, more pagan and druidic followings, listening to the animal spirits of the earth and the haunted woods in their lushous and rolling forests and grasslands. Lastly, Senshi (幸戦史) reclaims a different heritage, that of the Lumen Heresy, though of course, such tenets must be followed while under the rule of their own winged eagle-knights, rather than any other kings or Daimyos.
-- Ninporo, the capital of the Book of Bronze and its Samurai-Senate   Honor is as important in Old Elysia as it is in the Dynasty, but there is much less presence of any central authority, as Daimyo are quickly deposed should they ever act against their people, by way of greed or war. As such, Elysian society is more cooperative and egalitarian, though without centralized coordination and absolute authority either region-wide or city-wide, there exist more pockets of demonic resistance and cults of said worship in the areas not often watched by the keen eyes of hunters bronze or the individual Ministries of Old Elysia.   Old Elysia does, indeed, house Ministries of the occult, for here the heritage of Elysia lies in the Books of Mystery and the Hikari Kai all the same. The Book of Kami & Oni was penned in the south, the Book of Bronze is studied most in Ninporo (if not in Kaukuni), the Book of Barbed Veins was republished in Ki-saka, and the Hikari Kai itself is taught from the western centre of the Ju'ro-kui'ro at Ishito. Their Ministries exist in constant opposition to the Ministries of the Land of Black Roses 玄 薔 薇 and the Dynasty, battling upon chess boards upon the twilight realm using pawns of river-spirits and mountain-gods.
