Lost Brothers

These are those for which we must prepare, as the Second Jeriec Empire uses them endlessly as tools of war, and they stalk in every night, through every shadow.

Much of this is knowledge recovered from diplomatic relations with The Second Jeriec Empire, and is therefore tainted by their bias and tendency for oral myths.   When the Children of Jeria fled the Reivantan armies, moving underground for safety, the others scattered across Evandyr. With the loss of their great - if turbulent - Empire, many of the old creations of Avernus followed the Olde Way much too closely. Over the following millennia, whilst chasing every impulsive desire, they devolved into nothing more than beasts.   Some of these beasts are now used by the Empire as tools of war, beasts of burden, or the like. An example is the Griffin, a great and beautiful creature. In the days of the First Jeriec Empire, they were as intelligent as a Hobgoblin.   Some of these beasts are too fearsome and feral for even the Empire to imagine taming, such as the Werewolf.   Weakness: As learned through observation of the Jerian War Machine, the object of their desire can be used as leverage. They have the intelligence to think through the steps, and in some cases, barter for what they want, whether that is a golden apple or it's cornered prey's flesh. Use this against them, and you may survive the encounter.   IN AETERNUM. AD INFINITUM.
