Primrose Hazelwish

Songstress Primrose Hazelwish (a.k.a. Teller of Tales, Righter of Wrongs, Freer of Maidens, Detriment to Public Decency)

"No mortal lives forever.  Years from now you, I, kings, villains, we will be dust and fragments like the people of Neather, but where the flesh rots, stories thrive and grow. And they can live forever. So whatever you do in your life, grand or small, all I ask is you rember me and make your story a story worth telling!"

-Primrose Hazelwish,
speech given upon her arrest for corrupting public morals c. 1484.
She escaped jail the next day.
Primrose is a wandering bard with a tendency to never be in one place for long and a habit of appearing in strange places. She often states that she is on the verge of making it big, but is normally found smalltown taverns, seedy bars, and flop houses throughout the land, where she trades her abilities as a performer and wide knowledge for gold and lodging. When those fail, she is quite capable of falling back on her beauty and magic. Tavern tales about her are almost as common as tales she has told, with many a drunk wistfully recounting the time they "nearly made an honest woman" of Hazelwish before she abruptly vanished.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Little is known about the bard's past, and what is known might not even be true. Her family likely hails from Himse but little is known of them. She appeared in Dreadmouth sometime in her teen years, and quickly enrolled in the Dreadmouth College of the Bardric Arts. As is bardic tradition, she is currently traveling the land searching for new and interesting tales, accomplishments, and experiences. She rarely stays in any place more than a month, but in that time can become practically a storm of fun, passion, and chaos for whatever town is hosting her.

Sexuality

Primrose has been known to have left a string of broken hearts and smiling faces, both male and female, in her wake.  Occasionally someone will report nearly or actually marrying the woman, but her sudden disappearance is generally taken as at end of the relationship.

Intellectual Characteristics

Primrose basks in the attention she commands in a room, loving being the center of attention, putting on a show, and adoring the idolization of her fans. She is prone to drink and mischief, but she saves these activities for after her performances. While she may often seem vapid, she is both exceedingly cunning and calculating, often slipping away just before any of the consequences of her actions reach her.

Morality & Philosophy

To the extent that she can even be coaxed into higher discussions, Primrose seems more concerned with making a good story than anything else, and seems to have little respect for legal and moral boundaries.  While often she leaves a town moments before the authorities reach her, she is perhaps far more likely to leave when she becomes bored.

Social

Social Aptitude

Primrose is a consummate charmer, and where her natural charisma fails, she's not above using magic to manipulate those around her. While her charms don't often last long, few people seem to take particular offense to them even after the fact for some reason.
