Dear Mr. Carlyle,
Your lawyer informed me that you seek certain knowledge of this land and its distant past, and I believe I can aid you ni this regard. Inquiries in the Old Quarter have identified one Faraz Najjar, in the Street of jackals, who claims to be in possession of "singular curios" which he believes will be of great interest to you. He is prepared to part with these items if a suitable price can be agreed upo, and I shall endeavour to make sure that matters are arranged to your satisfaction.
