Dimensional Void
General Specifics
The Dimensional Void is a plane that exists seperately of the normal universe. It has a high density of Void Particles that gives the plane its name and forms many strange phenomenon throughout the whole plane. As the density in most is between 50 and 75 percent and at some parts even reach 95% its nearly impossible for normal beings to survive there long. Its also a unique plane because its the only one where Void Particles dominate the composition whereas usually there are several elemental planes for example the famous Hell is of the fire elemental type but there are various other fire elemental ones. Of course Void Particles are also found in other planes but most scholars agreee that those are only remnants from portals to the Dimensional Void.
There are many entrances to this plane that can be usually easily identified by their particle leakage and the following radiation. No one has been able to discern a pattern of the appearance and disappearance of these Void Portals but there have been found a few commonalities: Portals mostly appear in areas with high Life Force and often close when that Life Force is completely converted to Void Particles. There are also no records of portals found outside of the Earthly Realm. A detected Void Portal is usually classified as a natural disaster but a few daring magical scholars sometimes attempt to use them as energy source or to research them. Once they enter the Dimensional Void they will not be able to return to their entrance point and when they are lucky enoufh to find another portal they often find themselve in totally different worlds.
Geography
The material manifestation of the plane is mostly an endless grey plain. There are some mountains and other deviations and there can even be some remnants of civilization found inside it. There are only four types of solid materials that form everything inside the plane:
- Void Dust
- Cranian Granite
- Void Ore
- Trenian Wood
Trenian wood is maybe the most wondrous thing found inside the Dimensional Plane as it forms the body of the sole species living inside it: Dying Trees. Exactly how this special sub-type of Treants is able to survive in this void-soaked environment is an ongoing mystery as the only discovered speciality about trenian wood is its ability to absorb Void Particles without harm to itself. Even more mysterious is that every attempt to relocate Dying Trees into the Earthly Realm has failed even when the environment was nearly a perfect replica.
