Celestial
General
A Celestial is not a biological race but describes the state of an individual soul. It is seen as the current pinnacle of soul evolution and there are only a few "born" every millenia. A Celestial is born when a soul binds to a Chaos Fragment and is strong enough to survive the bonding. Henceforward they live in symbosis: While the fragment supplies power and knowledge, the Celestial procures energy to prolong their existence. Every Celestial can feel the birth of a new one and can even pinpoint their exact location for a limited timespan.
Gods & Devils
One of the easiest and most common ways for Celestials to procure the necessary energy to continue living is through the faith of mortals and therefor most lesser civilizaiton know them as deities. The preferred method of nourishment puts Celestials into ther sub-species, the most common ones being Gods and Devils
The Cronian Convention
All known Celestials are subject to the Cronian Convention, that restricts their interference withb other races. It is the only reason why there are no rogue Celestials destroying civilizations for theri amusement. Technically the Cronian Convention is a treaty that has to be signed voluntarily, but whenever a new Celestial is "born" all others make sure they sign or die in fear of their unrestricted power.
