Personal history
In his home world, Romando was born a slave to parents he never knew. Grew up to be a slave warrior to be sold off to some mercenary army or die in the fighting pits. Killing his first man at age 12, all Romando knew was death and despair. Until meeting a younger slave boy by the name of Emile Fareman, that day afterwords he felt the need to protect the boy believing this was his higher calling. Over the remaining years as a slave Romando grew to be like a father to Emile and was always dreading the day they would both be sold off, but to his surprise a very wealthy Lawyer had come to the auction and bought both the freedoms of Romando and Emile. Feeling an overwhelming responsibility to repay this kindness any way he could, so he pledged himself to Siggyn Avelyn Mørkedottir until the debt was paid.
His service to Siggyn had not been an enjoyable one, better than being a slave waiting to be sold off, but not by much. Still wanting to be like a father to Emile he suffered through it. During his service he learned how to read and write, how to cook and prepare meals, hair styling and grooming, various things that would make a good servant. Romando had begun to get rebellious over the years, feeling like he had been robbed of his true freedom. Small outbursts such as, talking back or tardiness, this was often met with verbal scolding. Larger mistakes or outburst were met with beatings, much to Romandos dislike. He's thankful she never mistreated Emile, but was maybe a bit too vocal about how she's possibly the worst role-model.
After finishing up with some horse riding with Emile, Siggyn had called for everyone to take a small trip to a neighboring town, and the second they stepped through the portal, Romando only knew despair from that point onward.
