Lord Kurog and his companions arrive at Thorfinvall's Castle

Lord Kurog and his companions, following the the direction that the shadow demons took from Briar Glen send Drogon on a flying scouting mission into the mountains. Here he finds a strange castle on a promenatory in a lake in a volcanic caldera. They find a route to it on foot through a narrow pass, and climb in over the roofs to avoid a monstroud animated iron statue that stands in the gateway. Inside they encounter a group of strange half-serpent people, and then finally meet it's strange owner, Thorfinvall. Thorfinvall persuades them to attack the half-serpent people, who he says have invaded his home. They attack them, and cause them all to flee. Thorfinvall gives them a feather token which turns into a great bird that carries them over the mountains so that they can reach Runsinane more directly.
