Ilsig

The Ilsigs are an ancient culture from the western part of the continent. Recently subjugated politically by the Rankan Empire they still have a long tradition of literature, poetry and art. Ilsig culture has been highly accretative over the centuries, and much of what is now thought of as traditionally Ilsig has actually been incorporated into Ilsig culture.  Most Rankans tend to view Ilsig culture as weak and effeminate, despite the long struggle that they had to conquer it, and the wide range of Ilsig practices that they have absorbed in learning how to rule on a continental scale.
