Douloi

The douloi are the name that the Faerie give generically to what they refer to as the lesser or servitor races, because they created them as servants, workers and warriors. They were created within time from the material of the world, but they are tied to chaos more than law, because they were created. They are inherently creatures of destruction, not because they are evil, or because they revel in destruction, but because their very nature drives them to be destructive. In this, they are the antithesis of the True Giants who are the makers.
The most common of the Douloi are Humans but other common Douloi are the Orcs and the Frost Giants.
Douloi, because of their chaotic and changeable nature, are capable of a wide range of cross-breeding, even with giants, dragons and faerie as well as amongst themselves. Hence the range of half-elves, half-orcs, dragon-born etc that are often found.
