Session 019: Report

General Summary

Your business with the dwarves concluded, you returned to camp with your allies, to break bread and to rest for the long journey ahead. During this break, Karoon told you he wished to depart from the group. The gnoll said he was disappointed by the lack of battle and bounty during your time together, and that he wanted to return to the Masturi Wastes.   You began to trek north, past the lake of molten rock and towards the Wildwood Tunnel. There, you split paths with your gnoll friend, who continued his way north as you turned towards the tunnel which would take you out of the subterranean world.   You came across a ramshackle lift, operated by a large group of goblins, who asked for a considerable sum of gold to take you and your escortees aboveground. You considered the climb up the steep cliff face to be too long and dangerous, and after a brief moment of haggling, you decided to pay the goblins' fee. Slowly, their rickety construction raised you through the darkness, and as you reached the upper platform, you were met with the smells and sounds of the surrounding wilderness.   Traveling through the moonlit forest proved effortless under the guidance of your ranger ally. After several hours of travel, as the first rays of the sun began to peek over the horizon, you reached the well-trodden path which would lead you back to Stonewell. You rested once more, your muscles sore from the endless marching of the last few days.   Following the path, you made your way back to Stonewell with no issues. Upon reaching the town, Vethykos ran into Sasuud, a colleague of his, who had received news of his encounter with the shadar-kai. She had arranged transportation for the elves, to join them with their people somewhere in the south. They would depart with Vethykos and The Ragged Hand, when they were ready to travel again.   With your mission completed, you reported to Lieutenant Anai. You told her of the dwarven conflict and how you resolved it, and were rewarded with access to the Arcanum Spire upon your return to Gal-Aralu. You then spent your final moments together as a group, as Talvikki and Vethykos prepared to leave for their own separate ways.   The wagons departed, and thus only End and Theodore remained. As they returned to the tavern, they ran into two strangers, desperate for aid with their own quest. They had come to Stonewell to solve an ghost problem, but none of the locals seemed willing to help them.   After a brief conversation with these hunters of the undead, you learned that they were tasked with putting a ghost of a Khosul matriarch to rest. The spirit had recently grown restless, preventing the Khosul from visiting their family tomb and causing lesser undead to roam its surroundings. You decided to join forces together, hoping they would later help you with your task of ending the tribal problem. For the first time in a long time, you enjoyed a night of sleep in a proper bed, before you would head towards the Khosul family tomb.
