Session 013: Report

General Summary

Having finished your bloody work, you retired to the Nostalgic Mole Inn. You took the evening to clean yourselves of ancient dust and gore of the dwarven halls, and had some well-deserved leisure time. You also took some time to bind yourselves with the magical weapons which you had previously earned, eager to test their unique capabilities.   During the night, End heard a group of distressed villagers enter the tavern, only to leave shortly after. In the morning you talked with the innkeeper, who described the visitors as just another group of refugees who had marched through the night to escape their burning homes.   The experiences within the dungeon had awakened something within End, feeling empty without the grip of a crossbow in his hand. As such, you decided to buy some new equipment before heading to talk with the lieutenant.   The lieutenant thanked you for your service, but was troubled by your news of this dwarven hold under Stonewell. She wanted you to venture down again, to figure out whether they were a threat to the town or not. She promised that she would try to arrange you entry to the Arcanum Spire in Gal-Aralu, where you would gain access to the market of enchanted magical items.   With that in mind, you headed back to The Old Mine, and into the dwarven halls. You took a moment to search through the cleared level again, to make sure it was safe. The body of the monstrous Sniffer called Bean lay where you left, but what remained was deflated, barely more than skin and bones.   You began your descent through the narrow stairway, deeper into the depths of the earth. You found yourself in a room where the creature had apparently made its nest, with piles of filth and detritus covering its surfaces. At the end of the room stood a battered metal door, the aura of which filled End with nausea.   With the aid of Vethykos' divine sense, you were able to deduce that you would be treading on hallowed ground. Though such areas block the entry of various extraplanar creatures, it only caused slight discomfort to your Tiefling friend. He began to work through the lock, and after a brief bit of struggle and some help from Talvikki, the lock eventually opened with a loud click.
