Session 012: Report

General Summary

Your hastily planned ambush fell apart as you scrambled to hide and kicked a piece of debris in the process, alerting the creature to your presence. The monster quickly swung its wicked claws at Theodore, who only barely avoided the attack thanks to his quick reflexes.
It burst into the hall, smashing the masonry with its misshapen bipedal form as it forced its way through the archway. It attacked with wild rage, trying to slash and crush anything that stood in its path.
With regard for its defense, the monster was an easy target, but it took a great deal of violence until you managed to bring it down. With your bounty in mind, you began to hack off the monster's bony arm-spike.
The dwarven halls were silent again, and as you dragged your loot back to the entrance, you heard a splashing sound from the well at the end of the hallway. There you found the missing guardsman, frozen and in shock, and took him with you as you made your way back towards the entrance of the mine.
Having dealt with all immediate threats, you decided it was wise to rest and recover from the day's battles before pressing any further. You headed back to the tavern, your mind occupied by the stairwell you left behind, descending further into the darkness of the mountain.
