King Conrad Ruemtoc (a.k.a. The Blessed Conqueror)

Conrad I 'the Blessed Conqueror' was the last Weldic King-in-Exile, and the first of the Age of Reconquest. He became King while in Exile, in 47 AE, and married Morgene in 48 AE - receiving the blessing of the The Creator, and a commission to reconquer the lands of Sammerden for the living and the Creator.
After his victorious liberation of Calthor, Conrad (who lost Morgene at the zenith of his triumph) was unwilling to turn into a builder, and pursued the campaign agains the Empty vigorously for a further seven years - thrice failing to defeat them beyond what is now Conrad's Gate. Finally convinced by his advisors, and commanded by a final visitation of the Creator (and Morgene), he gave up holy warfare and turned his attention to rebuilding the Kingdom of Weldmere.
Always a reluctant king of peace, his most impressive buildings were military - including Conrad's Gate and the Conradian Forts. Nevertheless, for the first time in his life seeing the Welds returned to Weldmere, he hoped for the future and trained his son Markus (IV) to be a better peaceful builder than he could ever hope to be.
