Dawn's Arch Amphitheatre

Located in Mirour, the Dawn's Arch Amphitheatre is both the newest and the biggest construction project Aurora has seen, with perhaps the exception of the Crystal Castle.

Purpose / Function

Built by the order of Queen Jensine, the public story is that amphitheatre is a gift to the people of Mirour, so that they may have a place to have fun and hold celebrations. Privately, however, the queen hopes that it will close some of the distance between the government and the general public, while also reducing the uncertainty and tensions that have been growing due to strained international relations. It will be a place to host festivals, plays, tournaments, and military training exercises, among other activities.

Architecture

The building is currently being constructed on the outskirts of the city, near the banks of the Crystal River. Since the land around Mirour is flat, there are no natural landforms to build the amphitheatre into, so it must be built upward using many large arches for support. It is an architectural marvel of its time, and it is estimated that it will hold at least 10,000 people upon completion.
