Gorllewin Wayakeskwa

Wayakeskwen people from Okinikiri Island sailed to Gorllewin Forest at around 900 MC and began building outposts on the new land. They learned to use some primal magic from the forest by studying the abundant natural spirirts, and developed customs that keep the ecosystem balanced. Eventually, as they spread further into the Isle and built new settlements, family groups declared their villages to belong to separate tribes. While these tribes remain separate in terms of culture, they have similar government systems and their shared history means they function similarly to one larger organization.
Each tribe is ruled by a chief, a family member that was chosen by the previous one, and the chief's council, consisting of their advisors, relatives, and doctors and druids of the tribe. There are some travel systems, such as riverways and roads, between villages to trade goods and have meetings between tribe leaders, although interactions between tribes have become rarer in the past few years.
