Blackberry Village
Blackberry Village is located on the northwestern shores of Klale Cove, surrounded by a misty old-growth forest. The village was founded by the Blackberry Family and has since been joined by many other firbolg families, including the Boxwood, Morel, Spruce, and Otter families, along with several gnomes and a few humans.
Blackberry Village is also the origin of the Guardian Circle. Several druids from the village gathered others from across Gorllewin Forest with the goal of protecting the forest.
As more people joined Blackberry Village, its layout changed over time. The chief's house and Blackberry family houses are on the crest of a hill which overlooks the tree-covered cliffs of Klale Cove, which can be seen on sunnier days. The rest of the village lies on the other side of the hill, with firbolg and humblefolk houses built between the giant trees, and gnomish burrows carved into hill faces. Built within the branches of the moss-coated trees, more gnomes' tree houses are connected with ladders and bridges.
The village's inhabitants live in coordination with nature. Wild berry bushes, mushrooms, lichens, and mosses are encouraged to grow around the village as they provide food to various inhabitants, and provide some protection against chilly winter winds. People leave compost sprinkled around the outside of the village to nourish plants and fungi, and tree-dwelling villagers use arboreal hummus to grow small plants. The village also relies on the sea, using canoes, nets, and spears to gather kelp, fish, and urchins for food.
