Selenite's abilities are made clear to the masses.
The races of Sagrea discover selenite's magical abilities. While each one believed something different regarding its origin or purpose, it was clear to them that the crystals' magic gave it both lasting potential as religious monoliths and as a way to advance technology. Using this event as a stepping stone, the races of Sagrea began to record their history.
