In an attempt to rescue her lover, a Light Elf named Deirdre Uisliu is rewarded with an apotheosis, becoming one of the main deities of her race.

After her human lover is killed in an accident, a Light Elf named Deirdre Uisliu attempts to use selenite to drag his spirit back to the world of the living. While she eventually manages to bring him back to life, she is forced to stay in the spiritual realm but is rewarded by other deities for her efforts with an ascension into godhood. This allows her to become one of the Light Elves' main deities with the added side effect of destigmatizing interspecies romance among elves.
