Diego Tiziano
Some would call him a gentleman, other a scoundrel but none are in doubt that Diego Tiziano is a born Mercenary. Orphaned at a young age Diego was raised by his grandmother Lucia who unbeknownst to him gave up her life as Elions most prolific smuggler to keep him safe form that kind of world. In life his father had been a physician and his mother an alchemist and Lucia had hoped he might follow in a similar vein. However it quickly became clear that Diego was drawn to a life more dangerous. Seeing the same spark and drive that Lucia herself had in the early days of her illicit career she pulled some favours to get him onto the crew of the renowned Mercenary captain Francesco Parker . A natural fit for the role Diego quickly rose up through the ranks and before long he had managed to purchase his own vessel, a fast brigantine by the name of Abigail.
15 years and many adventures later Diego now the owner of a small fleet of vessels each chartered to other mercenary groups had begun to become dissatisfied the much of the industry as a whole. While those with the reputation to command it are able to negotiate favourable contract conditions, a culture of taking advantage of green crews or those desperate to have no choice into taking contracts that would only pay on completion of a job and offer no measure for compensation to family in the event of death. It had been some time since Diego had been making use of the old smuggling space that Lucia had given to him as a storage facility, but having been invited to a soiree organised by the Marquess Felicity Langston and overhearing firsthand much of the distain and disregard held by many of the nobles for those in the mercenary community, Diego made the decision to form the Ebonskull mercenary company and headquarters.
While initially fearful of giving up a life of dangers on the sea, it quickly became apparent there would be plenty of battles in establishing a what was yet another large mercenary company in an already competitive market, particularly 1 with a culture of trying to nurture those looking to start the life and look after those who may have lost because of it. Thankfully though tough at first the reputation of Tiziano name paired with much hard work has saw the Ebonskulls grow a rapidly up and coming mercenary company.
Today while mainly confined to Neverstar, Diego occasionally finds time for the odd job that piques his interest, usually with the excuse that the client requested he personally take on the job . While it is true that none of the senior staff believe such nonsense it has become impossible to argue after Diegos last dabble with his old role brought in such a vast amount of additional coin that the Ebonskulls have recently taken delivery of 3 skyships The Greenfly, Jessamine and the Aragante.
