Sacaris

After nearly a century of war between the Shadowspear Union and the Ashbound Congress, an arcane cataclysm that has come to be known as the World Splinter or the Splintering, centered on the Besieged city of Ospia dramatically changed the world of Sacaris forever. The continent shattering event had left hundreds of thousands dead, and displaced countless more, leaving not even the furthest reaches from the epicenter uneffected . It was a time of great tragedy and loss, however the dark war at least was over and the peoples of Sacaris could begin again .   Time continued to push forward and the peoples of Sacaris began to rebuild and adapt to this still changing new world. Rapidly advancing civilizations making use of newly discovered arcane elements Elerium and Aetherium began to rise on the now floating islands and vast swathes of survivors of the splintering began to migrate from the central continent of Kvarris that was rapidly being transformed it a more wild and dangerous place becoming ever more filled with new and strange species.   Today the outer continents and the empires that reside apon them are a place of relative stability . Though a cautious distancing between nations remains from the time of the splintering, trade and resource is plentiful . The skies once firmly the domain of the sky cities is beginning to open up more and more to those who dwell on the surface. A new age of exploration is beginning to dawn, as those bold or foolish enough strike out to explore the wilds of Kvarris,the new frontiers of the Fey and the Shadowfell or perhaps even frontiers that remain yet undiscovered. An unlimited horizon of discovery promises prosperity, discovery and the vison of a better tomorrow. However as has been the way ever since the Splintering, the ominous cloud that is the Obsidian tower remains. Unreachable and inscrutable, it like the eternal storm that envelopes the area it resides in continues to forever cast a foreboding shadow over the ambitions of the peoples of Sacaris.
