Crystalline Convergence

The Crystalline Convergence took place on 24 February 533:Contempt and forever alter the geography of Runetalras.

Crystal Catalyst

The Crystalline Convergence was the culmination of the efforts of the Crystal Catalyst to return Garthedd to Runetalras from the Weave where it had been trapped since the end of the Age of Blood. Led by Terraxia, First of the Triarchy, Grand Magi of the Catalyst, Wielder of the Crystalline Staff, and Navigator to Salvation Garthedd rained terror on Runetalras, obliterating Hathban in a conflict known to us as the Wars of Undeath.   The Crystalline Convergence was not, however, the conflict that was unleashed, instead it was a stranger and unintended effect of Garthedd’s return to the Prime Material Plane.   When the Mantle was ripped apart which allowed more than just Garthedd to teleport to Runetalras. Whole landmasses and even continents were shifted from the Weave to Runetalras; with them came strange flora, dangerous fauna Weave Aberrations, and worse Arcane Tempests winds of magical energy which empower and drive inexperienced magic users to madness. When Arcane Tempests blow magic users can turn to warped ones, or lose control of their magic leading to massacre and widespread destruction.   With the landmasses vast quantities of weavite, and a stranger material called Corestone which is more potent than weavite but also twists creatures into warped ones.   As a result of the strange flora, dangerous fauna, and chaotic Arcane Tempests and corruption stone have left the lands almost entirely uninhabitable.

Changes to Runetalras

The Crystalline Convergence has had a lasting impact on all of Runetalras, not just in the form of new landmasses, but also in the form of the dangerous and unpredictable effects of magical energy. The new continents that have been shifted from the Weave to Runetalras have brought with them strange flora, dangerous fauna, and even more dangerous weave aberrations. Additionally, the Arcane Tempests, which are winds of magical energy, have been known to empower and drive inexperienced magic users to madness, causing them to turn into warped ones or lose control of their magic, leading to widespread destruction and massacre.

Legacy

The memories and legends of the Age of Blood have been brought to the fore once more. The rebellions and attacks by magic users during the Return of the Crystal Catalyst have also made their place in Runetalras more difficult. This has been further exacerbated by the Arcane Tempests which empower and drive inexperienced magic users to madness, causing them to turn into warped ones or lose control of their magic. This has led to great persecution of mages throughout much of Runetalras
