Session 1: The Quiet before the Storm Report
General Summary
The doors suddenly swing open, a tall figure cloaked in black and red robes moves in, floating across the floor as if the act of walking is beneath him. A pale hand extends out from the black robes and reaches toward the barkeep with a clasped fist and says "As per our usual arrangement"

The party started on board an Airship headed to Brekka. They were sipping their drinks in the lower deck dining hall where they met each other and Magister Goswin Reeder and Gelmir Gálmód . The group exchanged some banter before eventually landing in the outskirts of the frozen city. Upon landing, the distant sound of singing and drums could be heard. Goswin was told to find the Dwarves at a tavern called The Broken Bassoon. As the party ventured into the central streets it was apparent that a grand celebration was being held. Dancers waving flags, streamers, and banners, flooded the streets. All-clad with the same symbol, a right-handed gauntlet with the back of the hand facing forward, center on which was an open eye. Jordis noted it was the symbol of the dead god Helm. Eventually, the party made their way to The Broken Bassoon, in which they met the Dwarves who were engaged in some sort of drinking ritual. First they were introduced to High King Gotrek Gurnisson . Then they met Lord Oromm Gurnisson , Archivist Orimnok Vakrulson , Rorothim Rumblecrag , and lastly Broldrig Grumblestrength . After some drink, the expedition grabbed their equipment and headed along the Northeast road out of Brekka towards Ironlight. The trip to Ironlight was relatively short and uneventful. If anything it was a quick reminder of the biting cold that lies ahead. Gelmir made some banter with our heroes, and at one point a rabbit took particular interest in Ezekial. The rabbit was scared off by the sound of bestial shrieks in the distance. Soon after, the sun had set and the party found themselves at Ironlight, the furthest north settlement in the Realm of Daetus, hanging on the cusp of Astrakain. The dwarves quickly rushed to the Dire Drow, the local tavern. The rest of the party followed. The barkeep was very unwelcoming and the patrons were wonderfully rude. The barkeep kept reminding the party to "not kill anyone" and offered them free food and drink if they would leave the tavern after. Llobh managed to convince her to let them stay and acquired a set of room keys. The party had food and drink and eventually headed off to bed. In the middle of the night, the town watches bell could be heard ringing. Screams and shrill warcries could be heard coming from outside. A band of kobolds and their gnoll captains had besieged the town. The town watch was trying its best to fend them off in the town centre but several managed to make it into the tavern. The party donned their gear and fended off the kobold invasion. Many of the kobold's fled, but the gnoll fought till the bitter end. The party managed to subdue the gnoll and he mentioned something about the great cold one before succumbing to his wounds. Shortly after the fight came to an end, a floating black-and-red-cloaked figure entered the tavern. The barkeep had entered the main room once the noise subsided. The figure approached her with a closed fist and dropped 8 blood red coins into her hand. He said something about her being a valuable business partner and then left. She fell to the ground and broke into tears. A host of undead servants entered the tavern and threw the dead kobolds and gnolls into a waiting cart outside. Mores and Jordis chased the figure but he swiftly disappeared into the dark wood surrounding the town.Rewards Granted
