Llobh Gnaagmurr

Llobh Gnaagmurr

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Llobh is the product of a typical Trollborn upbringing. Born in a small town where the two species lived together, his mother was a human and his father was a troll. After coming of age, he followed in the footsteps of his Trollborn grandfather, Vekuzz. and went to live on the small island that had been in his family for generations - as is not uncommon for a Trollborn to do.   Vekuzz studied the ways of sorcery from the large collection of scrolls, tomes, and grimoires that had been gathered by his forefathers. After not returning to the village for the annual summer celebration, Llobh was among the concerned family and friends that travelled to the island to check on Vekuzz. Upon reaching the secluded family home, the search party was unable to find any trace of him. Though showing clear signs of not having been inhabited for many months, not a thing was out of place except a note laying atop a particularly large and battered grimoire that none in the party could recall having been among the house's library.   The contents of the first half of the note were merely the usual update which Vekuzz sent back to the village a few times a year discussing the troubles and trivialities of surviving a winter alone on a secluded island and expressing an especial excitement to share some very interesting magical knowledge he had uncovered. However, half way down the page - in fact, half way though a sentence expressing his excitement for the upcoming midsummer festival - the Trollspeak writing suddenly transitioned into a collection curving, fluid runes which no one in the party, nor the whole village, had ever seen before.   Though the incident spooked the whole village and prompted many remarks discouraging Llobh from travelling to the island and beginning his studies, he became only more driven to learn what he could from the library and pursue his fascination for the art of sorcery. It was only a few years later that Llobh left his village to inherit the place in which Vekuzz once studied. After taking a year to learn how to survive by oneself and reading the introductory books on sorcery, Llobh could no longer resist the curiosity of attempting to investigate the knowledge Vekuzz had uncovered just before his mysterious disappearance.   At first, the unintelligible script which filled the pages of the time-worn, water-damaged grimoire meant little to Llobh but, strangely, the more late night he spent by the ink-black waters on the shore of his island, searching for meaning in the swirling text, the closer he felt to understanding what it was that his grandfather was so interested by in his final days before his vanishing.   And so was the stage set for the unimaginable horrors that Dagon would reveal to Llobh and lead him to the far away mountains at the behest of his new patron god.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

This is all just the Trollborn description from the Viking Campaingn Sourcebook since there's no where to put it. It's not actually part of my character

The trollbom are a feared and respected people. Their blood is half human, half troll. (The trolls of the Viking world are far differ- ent from those found in the Monstrous Com- pendium!) The trollbom are noted for their strength and cunning. Some become fearsome wamors, while others excel in sorcery. Ugly, powerful, and ill-tempered, they are easily identified from the common human stock. The trollbom are not properly a race like elves, giants, or dwarves. Others consider them human-or mostly human. Although trollblood may have been in a family for gen- erations, only those of the first generation are considered trollbom. All others are merely humans, although their troll ancestry may taint them in the eyes of others. The trollbom are easily identified. They are almost universally larger than normal men, usually much stockier and more muscular. Some may grow as tall as seven feet in height. They are seldom handsome and are often quite ugly. Their temperaments range from bad to worse, although they do have their good moods and senses of humor. The trollborn have no definite tendencies in lifestyle, most often living as other men. Some prefer the isolated surroundings of deep woods. Others gain a reputation as kings' champions. Not a few live on rocky islands, practicing sorcerous arts. No matter where they live, the trollborn tend to be secretive and individualistic, rarely bowing to author- ity. The fearsome reputation of their kind causes common folk to deal with them re- spectfully or not at all

Trollborn warlock serving his patron, Dagon - the Prince of Depths, lord of the Shadowseas, the 89th layer of the Abyss. Tall, muscular, ugly, learned. Llobh is on this journey at the request of Dagon.
