Founding a Kingdom

Back to Kingdom Building.   Founding a Kingdom is done via the following steps.   Step 1: Pick a starting hex and claim it. This costs 1 BP. The hex must be explored and also cleared of obvious hazards.   Step 2: Prepare the Hex for a Settlement This will delay Step 3 by up to four months depending in the terrain type.   Step 3: Construct your settlement's first structure. This choice must be one that is capable of being completed in one month.   Step 4: Choose Kingdom Alignment. This can be the same or different alignment then the ruler, and represents what the majority of the citizens tend towards in behavior. Note that other alignments will still be present in all but the most draconian of governments.Alignment modifiers are as follows: Chaotic: +2 Loyalty; Evil: +2 Economy; Good: +2 Loyalty; Lawful: +2 Economy; Neutral: Stability +2(can apply twice)   Step 5: Choose Leadership Roles. Assign the leadership roles for all PC's and NPC's involved in running the kingdom, such as Ruler, General, and High Priest. The leadership roles provide bonuses on checks made to collect taxes, deal with rioting citizens, and resolve similar issues. Kingdom Roles   Step 6: Start your Treasury. Any remaining BP after founding the settlement become your initial treasury.   Step 7: Determine Kingdom and Settlement Attributes. Your Alignment choice for the kingdom as well as any starting Building Modifiers are totaled together to determine the Kingdom's starting Economy, Loyalty, and Stability values.
