Towers of Oa

Located on a sea-swept island of Minith Fal far off the western coast of Vyrinth, the massive Towers of Oa peer across the seas to the lands around it. The four towers of the complex sit-in a diamond formation. The rear tower is the largest and most unique, the forward tower (nearest the coast) is the smallest. The two remaining towers are set to the right and left of these and are of equal height.   There are many mysteries about the towers. Who built them? What material are they constructed from? In appearance, they seem to be made of refined black stone. The columnar structure matches the natural formations of basalt. Windows or crenels are sparse on all of the towers and doors limited to only a few at their bases. The rear tower has neither windows nor doors and appears shattered.  The top third floats above the bottom two thirds, a trail of debris hanging below it.   Outside of the selective inner circles, the majority of the members of the Obsyn Oa have no knowledge of the tower's inner structure. It is generally known that they contain vast libraries, living spaces for the oldest members, and most importantly vaults. The largest of these, the Archive of Oa, is said to contain vast wealth and artifacts forged in the forming of the world.   For those outside the inner circles that have been lucky enough to visit them, they are only allowed in the small forward tower. All who have had this honor express their awe at the size of the side and rear towers. On a clear day, sailors can see the towers 60 miles off the coast of Minith Fal. Visitors familiar with shaping talk about how the Ebb is palpable, almost thick in the air.  The sensation is hard to describe.   Rumors persist, that dungeons exist containing elemental and dimensional horrors the world can not even dream of. Some spin tales that the towers exist in multiple planes of reality, though there is no proof of that. One of the greatest mysteries is how the towers survived the Collapse.
