Sunset Cliffs

The giant mountain range outside of Rumoroé is sloped on the Myori Desert side, but comes to an impressive cliff on the Rumoroé lowlands side. The cliff is so tall and sheer that Noonshade, the city closest to it, doesn’t see the sun until it’s almost directly above them.   At dusk, the grey cliffs are painted beautifully by the purples and oranges of the setting sun. It is considered one of the most beautiful natural wonders of Rove. Historically, during humanity’s darker times, it was an important symbol of beauty that man could never destroy.   The highest point of the cliffs is 8,291 meters above sea level, but most of it is somewhere between 5,000 and 7,000 meters tall. Clouds get pushed up against the cliff, and the updrafts scrape them up against the mountain, causing them to turn into rain, usually before cresting the cliffs. The people of Rumoroé have created a large trench at the base of the cliffs in order to contain the flooding, called the Sunset River. There are bridges to get over it, protected by large angular roofs.
