Session 01: Village of Valhale
General Summary
The Ratcatchers who formed a party in Lexica travel to Valhale in search of paying work for their profession. Arriving to the small hamlet filled with orchards, sheep, and kine. They find a homely little village. The Ratcatchers decide to ask around town gathering some general information on the locale. They learn that a tower within the town is currently inhabited by a couple of Ratcatchers who were awarded a keep by Count Dragonherz for killing a large group of bandits that threatened a local town. That keep is being built the next hill over and should be complete in the next couple of years. After this our Ratcatchers head to the Inn of the Welcome Wench. Here they have a proper meal and listen to some of the rumors happening within town. They learn that Jayson Debris the village's Mayor is paying 2gp to each Ratcatcher who is willing to clean out the local Moathouse as it has been infested with bandits who are preying on the local traders. They also learn that the local watermill is having a ghost problem. Deciding to tackle the Moathouse first our Ratcatchers all head to sleep in the dormintory offered by the inn.
The next morning the Ratcatchers have breakfast before asking around town about any information about the moathouse. Unfortunatly for our Ratcatchers they are not able to get a very reliable source of information. After this our Ratcatchers travel to the moathouse two leagues away. When they arrive they are ambushed by giant frogs, beating them back our Ratcatchers enter the Moathouse. Within the courtyard Alex Louis notices footprints leading to the main doors of the keep. However our Ratcatchers decide to investigate the tower within the courtyard. Here they are ambushed by two giant huntsman spiders. After the battle and after wounds are patched our Ratcatchers enter the keep proper. Here they find two hallways, a door, and a secret hidden door. Opening the secret door our Ratcatchers are ambushed by a pack of giant rats. Fighting off the swarm our Ratcatchers come out of the encounter quite battered. They decide to temporarily retreat to the previous tower to hunker down and patch themselves up. Two hours later our Ratcatchers return to the main hall and take the hallway on the left. Exploring the rooms beyond they find some minor treasure as well as a giant monitor lizard as well as a giant tick. The Ratcatchers successfully fight all of them off.
Heading down the next hallway the Ratcatchers find very little of interest, however Tamla Heildr discovers a jeweled dagger worth a decent amount. Now all that is left is the final door in the main hall before our Ratcatchers head to the basement. Opening it the Ratcatchers discover a group of bandits who demand our Ratcatchers to explain why they are here, or they will bleed.
