The tale of Zhinu and the Silk Bridge

In ages past, those forgotten years of long ago, a beautiful woman named Zhinu was born to a fantastic goddess and powerful dragon. She lived her life as a weaver, until she met Tenzi, a simple herder of giant spiders.
Zhinu and Tenzi fell in love. This angered Zhinu's goddess mother, who flung then to opposite ends of the cosmos. Once per year, however, Tenzi's giant spiders send their silk strands across the sky to Zhinu, who uses them to weave a bridge between them.
This once annual day is honored with celebrations of love and affection, and marked by meteor showers.
