First Mech Brigade

Composition

Manpower

First Mech Brigade consists of nearly 5000 personnel in total, with 1400 of that number dedicated for support.

Equipment

Primarily known for their advanced mechanized exosuits, the soldiers of the First Mech Brigade were typically outfitted with the tools and materials needed to maintain their mech throughout a campaign.

Mech's themselves could carry cargo, and some were designed specifically for the task of moving supplies across the theater of war.

Weaponry

The Ancient Jiao Empire, by the time this Brigade was established, already issued advanced focused light energy weapons to their troops. Mechanized Exosuits easily could wield larger and more devastating models. Magical melee weapons were also popular, especially for urban excursions that were common at the time

Vehicles

The Mechanized Exosuit is a vehicle keyed to its specific user designed to be used as a sort of Living magical armor.

Structure

The Brigade was split into 3 battalions; Ascetic, Brave, and Crest Battalions.

Ascetic Battalion was known for spending long periods of time without support or back up in extreme environments or situations where the odds were stacked against them. Brave Battalion were renowned for their mechanized duelists, experts in melee combat while mounted in their Mechanized Exosuits. Cresr Battalion had specialized mechs that were adept at flying.

Each Battalion had a different number of companies under them, tasked to increasingly specific roles. The most famous of these companies is Dragon Company, which gained fame for their scorched earth tactics against the Hordes.

Tactics

Mechanized units were considered to be a mark of a new Era in warfare on Rolara. They could easily overwhelm trained soldiers and monsters solo and when organized they were nigh unstoppable. Most folk thought all countries would eventually develop technology based on the mechanized exosuit. Perhaps they would have, if magic had not been sealed away.
From a tactical perspective, mechanized exosuits were ideal because their mechanics could perform ad hoc modifications as a mission required. This meant that one mech could replace an entire of normal soldiers.
Mechs weren't without weaknesses, however. Though the Ancient Jiao weren't threatened by the dwarves often, their adamantine weapons and armor were known to thwart mechs regularly.

Logistical Support

In order to stay mobile, a steady supply of tools and materials had to be moved wherever these soldiers went. To that end, supply mechs and travel focused mechs were developed. Additionally, portal technology was extensively used.

Recruitment

The mysterious wujen were of little help in developing this unit, preferring to keep their magics secret. The Gnomes gave this technology away unintentionally.
