Spirit

Excepting those from Tengoku and Jigoku, spirits don’t operate on a continuum of good and evil. They act according to their nature, which is governed by its own, inscrutable rules. These creatures have no consideration for the welfare or desires of the samurai they encounter. The exception to this is ancestor spirits, who are intrinsically invested in seeing their descendants succeed and act in ways that reflect well on their ancestors.
