Grottornas
Grottornas is an island to the north of Pelthen , it is home to the Blue Monks . The west side of the island gently slopes up from the sea and is the site of a modest dock, trade post and some lodging houses, colloquially know as brewers bay. The rest of the island builds to high rocky cliffs showing the islands signature grey-blue rock. Monastery buildings are strewn across the island with the largest main temple building to the south and the famous Blue Monk brewery on the northern section.
The island has interesting geological features, it had an expansive cave and cavern system under most Grottornas and some even stretching beyond the landmass of the island under the sea. Many of these caves and caverns open up to the air at points letting in natural light and most of the system is covered in unique flora, even in areas were it seems there would not be enough light. Curiously it appears that the cave system never breaches the sea and all water found is fresh water so pure that it is perfect for the monks to use as brewing water.
Most of the central island is used for farming to allow the inhabitants to be self sustaining and also houses the monastery winter stores, these are all root cellar type stores built into the walls of a caven in the almost perfect center of the island. The dock area is the only area of the island that allows visitors and trading, the natural hill up to the centre of the island is flanked by cliffs from the north and sound parts the island and gets narrower towards the top forming the only natural path the the rest of Grottornas from the dock. This also enables the Monks to easily stop visitors wondering away from the dock. Known inhabitants of Grottornas: Brother Destan Brewer
