The Wedger

One of the main exports of Wedgeward is the high-tech weaponry that is mostly handed off to gangs in an attempt to keep peace. This trade works out so nicely due to the rarity of the content being distributed. A few years after the apocalypse, The people of Wedgeward began to take advantage of the maelstrom. An abundance of steel and Maelstromite was founded in an area close to the Infinite Loop. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the steel here was infused with the power of the maelstrom. The Wedgeward settlement decided to mine this ore to see how they can benefit from its power. Some fine blacksmiths and scientists took year to utilize this material to form a new kind of weapon–a small, but incredibly heavy rifle that can shoot a large laser strong enough to leave ashes in its path. This instantly overheats the rifle to the point where it can't feasibly be used again for about 13 minutes. It was named "The Wedger" because of its first time use which resulted in a man combusting into about eight pieces, or "wedges," as one scientist put, very aware of the play on words. Only a few of these rifles currently exist, but the pace of production is speeding up, and most of them are not in good hands.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Two levers stick out on each side of the rifle. It requires high strength to pull the levers apart, which lets out the fury of the maelstrom. The recoil will set you back quite a bit, then the heat will force you to drop it and leave it for about 12-15 minutes
