Kory
One of Kory's prized possessions is her bird book. Her favorite bird is by and large the versatile duck - free to explore the sky, land, and water. However, to survive, she draws inspiration from the vulture. She has quite the appetite, and will eat just about anything that other people leave behind. Shoes, clothes, cans, sometimes real food if she can get her hands on it (doesn't really matter if it's rotten or not, that just adds more flavor). If she comes across an item that catches her eye, she'll throw it in her backpack to become part of her ever amassing collection. This is how she got most of the things she has now, including her favorite camo cap. Momma is the one who gave Kory her signature polka dot shirt, though.

Personal history
Though she was born nine (and a half) years ago, she spent the first five living with "Momma". Momma was there when she learned how to walk and talk, She showed her how to change how she looked at will, and how to call for her when Kory needed her. She grew up constantly surrounded with Momma. Once Momma thought Kory was ready, though, she literally dropped her into Maplehood, her shirt and shorts her only possessions to her name. In this new, strange place, Momma was much harder to talk to, and it was terrifying compared to the peaceful life she lived before. But she survived on anything and everything she could (besides people, she just couldn't bring herself to stoop as low as the cannibals she saw tearing into one another), eventually learning the ways of this new world on her own. Along the way she grabbed some items like her favorite book, from which she found out about her favorite animal: ducks. As time passed, ducks become a symbol of absolute freedom to Kory. They can go anywhere in the world they please it seemed, and Kory wants nothing more than to be as free as they are.
