Tāgul

Tāgul (pl. gim tāgul), commonly translated as "teacher" in Sutsumāk, are more than just educational instructors. They are valued members of Architect society, serving as advisors, counselors, and leaders of Architect communities. They are known to be firm, professional, and wise, able to maintain level heads in crisis, and capable of taking the reins in any situation, should they need to.

Career

Qualifications

Tāgul are highly qualified individuals who are expected to complete a full education to a certain high standard. Details of the criteria are scant but it is known that an aspiring tāgul does not gain the right to call themselves tāgul until they are recognized as such by the other tāgul in their community. Often, this involves rigorous study, individual research, and an exhaustive exam meant to test the limits of the aspiring tāgul's knowledge and endurance.

Perception

Purpose

Tāgul are responsible for the proliferation of past wisdom into future generations. They ensure that Architect society, as a whole, does not repeat the mistakes of the past by remembering their history and preserving the every misstep and success. They steer leaders and everyday people away from misguided pursuits and counsel them on the best ways to move forward.   Tāgul further play a vital role in ensuring that young Architects receive the education that they need to succeed later on in life. Though Architects as a race are capable of grasping subjects with relative ease and achieving great mastery in any given line of work, they require knowledge to do so and tāgul are essentially living repositories of history, art, mathematics, and science. Under their guidance, Architects are able to flourish and gain skills and knowledge faster than they would on their own.

Social Status

Tāgul are highly respected members of Architect society. They are treated with the same reverence that other cultures might priests or nobles. They are considered pillars of their community and are invariably treated well.
