Arainian Sky Navy

The backbone of Arainia's military, the Sky Navy represents the most powerful fighting force on the continent of Tersilan. Formed shortly after the founding of Arainia with the aid of Gmoish Magitech the Arainian Sky Navy has grown to become the envy of the other nations. Tough Andol fields nearly 3 times as many vessels the ships of Andol lack the sophistication of Aranian ships. Only the Airel Fleet of the Chandra might match or exceed Arainia's mastery of the air. Despite the Sky Navy's power and the lingering fear of elven or dwarven aggression, Arainia strives not to use its advantage to influence other nations, with varying degrees of success. Arainia also limits operations assisting other nations unless those nations invite Arainian aid. Arania requires that all citizens do some service to the nation, that service can be crafting items for public infrastructures, healing the sick or injured, or a host of other options including military service. The terms vary by task, but the Sky Navy requires a four-year commitment, though some sections require longer terms of service. The Navy also maintains a force of Skyrines, who serve the same purpose of repelling borders and acting as a rapid deployment force as Marines do in the smaller ocean going Navy.

Order of Battle: 3 Dreadnaughts with a crew of 800 plus 1 Lancer Lance (or 16 Tridents). 6 Frigates with crews of 400 plus 2 Lancer Claws (or 8 Tridents). 12 Cruisers with crews of 200 plus 1 Lancer Claw (or 4 Tridents). 48 Corvettes with 50 crew and two Lancer Tridents or Half-Claws. 1/3 of each ship type is assigned to a battlegroup.
