Pulse

God of Electricity

Pulse, the Sustainer, is the third God worshiped by the Church of the Spark, behind the The Bright King and Lumen. When the Bright King tore his body apart to form the Spheres his flesh became the Spheres, his mind and consciousness became Lumen, and his blood Pulse. Pulse is the pure lifeforce of what was the Bright King and is viewed as the god of electricity and fire, the substances that are thought of as the blood of the Bright King. Since the bathyspheres run off of electricity, often produced by steam from flame-boiled water, Pulse has also become a symbol of life itself in Ripple. While Lumen has a consciousness and occasionally responds to his followers, Pulse does not respond to their followers. Depicted not as a humanoid figure but rather a ball of energy or a lightning bolt, Pulse is more akin to a primal force of nature then a sentient god. Most pay tribute to Pulse by doing their best to conserve energy. To waste electricity is to squander the essence of Pulse, and therefore the Bright King. Pulse is most heavily worshiped by electricians, sparksmiths, and shipwrights, though any who use electricity generally express respect for Pulse. It is customary for followers of the The Church of the Spark to ask Pulse to watch over their ships upon departing on a journey as they take a fragment of their power in the form of electricity.
The symbol of Pulse is a fiery orange ball with 5 white lightning bolts inside. Their number is 4. Chaotic Good domain.
