God of Light

Born from The Bright King when he separated his being into the Bathyspheres, Pulse and Lumen, Lumen is the god of light and warmth, and occasionally life. They represents and embodies the willpower and consciousness of the Bright King after his body was shattered. As such, most people choose to ask Lumen for answers to their prayers rather then the Bright King themselves. Despite being the god of warmth and light Lumen does not represent electricity or fire, with those aspect being covered by Pulse. The Church of the Spark views Lumen as the more active aspect of the Bright King, and between them and Pulse Lumen by far interacts with their followers more. Most clerics in the Church are clerics of Lumen, which speaks to their power. He and Pulse are responsible for holding back the dark, unknown forces of the sea around. Pulse protects and cares for the Spheres, while Lumen protects and cares for those who reside inside them.   Despite being called the "Lord" of Light and being referred to as a "he", Lumen in truth has no defined gender. When Lumen appears before someone their look changes for each person. To some, Lumen appears as an elderly man, wizened and hunched with age, to others a young woman, and to others still as close friends or relatives. As such in most depictions of Lumen they appear as an androgynous figure with shoulder length brown hair, light brown skin and a blank, featureless face. Some do however attempt to represent Lumen in a defined style so seeing an image of a man or woman with Lumen's heraldry is not uncommon.   Followers of Lumen pay homage and respect to them through making intricate cloaks and other warm garb. In most devout regions there is usually a light kept on throughout the night to represent Lumen and their power to hold back the unknown of the dark. Lumen is particularly worshiped amongst lamplighters, miners, and salvagers. Additionally those in the colder regions of the world, such as Rigstead and Principia, have a perchance to worship them more then the warmer regions.   The symbol of Lumen is a fiery reddish-orange sphere with light rays extending out from it. Their number is 2. Lawful Good domain.
