Huan (Hue-ahn)

God of Nature and Magic

Nature's Tangent, Huan is the god of magic, flora, fauna and minerals but is generally associated with nature as a whole, though this is not strictly true; parts of Huan and Zephyr's domains overlap, leading to generalizations. Legend states that Huan was old when the Bright King arrived in the Shattered Sea, and did not take kindly to the King's colonization of their territory. When the Bright King created his spheres he took the children of Huan: plants, animals and the ground itself, and placed them inside his spheres for his own children. At first these elements of nature rebelled against their metal prisons but over the centuries they have let themselves be cultivated and domesticated by humanoids. Even so, there are times when the plants and animals around humanoids suddenly go wild. When these occurrences happen it is referred to as Huan's Fever. Some believe that Huan resides in The Garden, and the recent encroachments of it are Huan's revenge for capturing their children.   Huan is most often depicted as a giant wolf, body made of twisting seaweed and other aquatic plants, with yellow eye sockets and horns made of white, cracked stone. Worshipers of Huan revere plants and animals more then the common folk, with the largest residing in the Summerset Collective. Huan's faithful and fearful are equally common to be found near the Garden, both those drawn by the forest and its wonders and those who pray that nothing emerges from it.   The symbol of Huan is a cluster of multicolored seaweed, with seven branches. Their number is 7. True Neutral domain.
